Welcome to [Cookidea] (the "Service" or the "App"). This Service is provided by [SPARKLECT CO., LTD.] ("we", "us", or "our"). We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information.

The App is designed to generate personalized recipes from your available ingredients and cookware using artificial intelligence (AI). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide recipe generation, inventory management, and personalized services, we may collect the following categories of information:

1.1 Information you provide

  • Account information: When you register, we may collect your email address, username, or third-party login credentials (such as Google or Apple ID) to create your account profile and sync data.
  • User content: Ingredient, seasoning, and cookware information you enter for recipe generation and inventory management.
  • Usage and transaction records: Your in-app activity records (such as saved recipes and generation history) and subscription membership status.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device information: Including device model, operating system version, unique device identifier (UDID), IP address, and language settings.
  • Usage data and analytics events: Through tools such as Firebase Analytics, we record how you interact with the App, including but not limited to clicked features, viewed pages, time spent, feature usage frequency, and crash reports (Crashlytics).
  • Advertising identifiers: Such as IDFA (iOS) or GAID (Android), used to provide rewarded ads or native ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

  • Core service delivery: Sending your ingredient list, inventory data, and cookware selections to backend AI models (LLMs) to generate customized recipe suggestions and detailed cooking steps.
  • Account management and sync: Using Firebase services to store your inventory, history, bookmarks, and related data in the cloud to keep information synchronized across devices.
  • Analytics and product optimization: Using Firebase Analytics to analyze anonymized usage behavior, helping us identify popular features, find usability bottlenecks, improve AI generation quality, and refine user experience.
  • Fair Use Policy enforcement: Monitoring daily generation counts to implement anti-abuse controls.
  • Advertising delivery: To support free service operations, we may display in-app advertising such as native ads or banner ads on certain pages.
  • Service improvement: Analyzing anonymized usage data to improve AI output accuracy and app performance.

3. Information Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. However, to operate the App, we share specific data with the following categories of service providers:

3.1 AI technology providers

To provide recipe generation tailored to your ingredients and cookware, the App integrates third-party AI models.

  • Recipients: Depending on compute needs, relevant data may be sent to Google Gemini, xAI Grok, or OpenAI ChatGPT.
  • Data sent: Limited to ingredient names, inventory status, cookware types, and cooking preferences that you actively enter or configure.
  • Privacy commitment: We strictly prohibit and do not send your name, email, phone number, precise device location, or any personally identifying information to AI providers.
  • Data safety and compliance:
    • No-training policy: Under current API terms of each provider, data sent through API is generally not used to train their base AI models by default.
    • Secure transmission: Selected providers apply industry-standard encryption and security controls for API transmission.
    • Temporary retention and deletion: Data may be retained temporarily on protected provider servers only for security review purposes (such as abuse prevention), with retention periods set by each provider policy (for example, around 30 days for OpenAI, and limited-duration monitoring for Google).
  • User control: You may withdraw AI feature authorization anytime in the App settings. Once withdrawn, the Service will immediately stop sending data to the providers above.

3.2 Cloud storage and infrastructure

  • Google Firebase: We use Firebase for authentication, database storage, and data synchronization. Your data is securely stored on Firebase servers.

3.3 Analytics services

  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Firebase Analytics): We use this tool to collect anonymized usage behavior data. Google may use collected data to analyze App usage.

3.4 Advertising partners

For free-tier users, we may work with ad networks (such as Google AdMob and AppLovin). These services may collect your advertising identifiers and device information to serve relevant ads.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

The App offers subscription services. All transactions are processed through the App Store or Google Play payment systems. We do not collect or store your credit card or bank account information. We only receive transaction receipts returned by app stores to verify your subscription status.

5. Data Security and Retention

  • Security: We use industry-standard encryption technologies (such as SSL/TLS) to protect your data during transmission and storage.
  • Data retention: We retain your data while your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal information and related data (such as inventory and history records) from our servers within a reasonable period.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have the following rights:

  • Access and correction: You may view and edit your data at any time in inventory management or settings pages.
  • Account deletion: You can find the "Delete Account" option in the account management page of the App. Once executed, all your data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
  • Opt out of ad tracking: You may limit ad tracking through your phone system settings (iOS Tracking settings or Android Ads settings).

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not designed for children under 13 years of age (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that such information was collected unintentionally, we will delete it immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the Last Updated date above will be revised. For material changes, we may notify you through in-app notices.
